Monthend Video Game Wrap-Up: July 2022

~ Game Over ~

New Super Mario World 2: Around the World (PC) – Completed to 100 percent, with many headaches along the way and some mild save-statery to smooth the especially rough parts. Generally speaking, a very good hack, though I cannot forgive the lack of the “beeooo-wip” sound effect when finishing a stage.

TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge (Switch) – Second playthrough as Casey.

Linelight (PC) – A simple puzzle game that provided me a good few hours of fun, and an hour of two of abject frustration. Frustration at how bad I am at solving simple puzzles. A YouTube series is on the way.

Loot Hero DX (PC) – A very simple little grind-’em-up where you run to the right, bash monsters, and take their money. Took about half an hour to finish, and slightly longer to get all the achievements.

Elden Ring (PS5) – Finished, and with the platinum trophy at that. Only cost me roughly 110 hours of my life. While I generally like the game, Farum Azula and Malenia nearly broke me. I don’t mind a tough game, but man, those were no fun at all.

Resident Evil Village (PS5) – Been hankering for some more RE in my life, so did a quick run of this one. And that “quick” is very literal, too, as my goal was to earn the “beat it in under 3 hours” trophy.
