~ Game Over ~
Splatoon Raiders (Switch2) – it’s basically all I’ve wanted from Splatoon since the series’ inception, and has left me wanting for nothing. Except more, maybe. Okay, and a lot of the post-game content is just grinding for rare drops and money, which is not the best, but the gameplay is fun enough that I keep doing it anyway.
Into the Gloom (PC) – A 2014 indie horror that got a massive update a couple years ago that brought it from “pretty good” to “this is one of the best indie horrors I’ve ever played.” Yes, it’s got poo graphics and shows its age, but its genuinely creepy atmosphere and actually good puzzles propel it above a lot of its peers, in my opinion.
Evil Awaits (PC) – A perfectly serviceable Resident Evil 4 clone, though it’s a wee bit janky and crashy. But it’s not too long and has a fun upgrade system, so I’m looking forward to some NG+ action. If I ever make the time.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers (PS5) – The most Dark Souls-like soulslike that I’ve played, but with a Chinese coat of paint. It starts a bit slow, but builds up steam pretty quick and got me surprisingly hooked. The bosses were all over the difficulty spectrum, from “was that a joke?” to “pulling out my hair in frustration”, though exploring all the different areas was nothing but pure joy. If someone asked me to recommend exactly one soulslike to them, this would be it. Steelrising would be a close contender, but Wuchang crashed far fewer times.
Vapour: Part 1 (PC) – A sucky, broken first-person action/horror that I quit because a load-bearing enemy refused to spawn and softlocked my game. The most important thing that I took away from this game is learning that if you buy a bundle on Steam, you can’t refund individual items from said bundle. Not that I expected any different, but now I know for sure.
Ray of Light (PC) – Seems like a game that kinda wanted to ride the wave of resource-management survival games of the late 2010s. It’s neither very complex or hard, and wasn’t the worst way to spend half an hour. The voice acting is hilariously bad and definitely worth experiencing.
~ Progress Notes ~
Teardown (PC) – 100% cleanup (main campaign only)
Pokémon Pokopia (Switch2) – Lots of play in the new Bubbly Basin area.
Pokémon FireRed (Switch) – Beat Koga, Sabrina, Silph Co.
Fitness Boxing 3 (Switch2) – Finally hit Gold 1 rank this month. But the point requirement for platinum(?) is completely insane.
Signalis (PS4) – Just short of an hour in.
Super Smash Bros Melee (GC) – One Classic and one Adventure run.
Burnout (GC) – Couldn’t even pass the first grand prix ;_;
