I, the throw away

Sorry about that last post. I just needed someplace to complain about something, no matter how trivial it may have been. I’ve just been feeling a little like a kid with no cash in a toy store lately, but that’s not important. If you haven’t visited lately, I just changed the colour scheme in the forums to suit the season a little better. I think it look pretty good, but it’s certainly a change from all the dark colours. Other than that, no big progress on anything really. Yesterday I was in bed pretty much all evening, leaving only for a pee break. I think I’m coming down with something. Ah well, at least Christmas is coming soon, that’s sure to cheer me up. Later days.

Sort of a protest song

You wouldn’t believe how hard it is to use a PC without a mouse. Sure I can do it, but it takes forever to Tab scroll through all the links on a web page. So as you can guess, my mouse is once again dead. My remote batteries are dead. Nobody else is willing to give up their batteries for the cause. Nobody else wants to go buy any new ones, and there are no other batteries in the house. I hate it. My progress is always impeded by something. If it’s not the computer itself, its one of the many peripherals. And I was in the middle of doing something in Paint, and I can’t use the keyboard in paint! It’s not like we even kept the old mouse for when this inevitable situation would arise. I’m really not posting for the sake of news, just so I can vent a little. I know I already ranted about this problem in my rant, but it’s something that you’re never fully rid of. Expecially when it keeps happening and there’s no way to fix it until days later. I guess I’m being a bit of a hypocrite here though, as I’m not going out to get the batteries either but I stand by my rage. This is just so infuriating. I’ve been using my TV remote’s batteries in the thing for the last while and now they’re dead and nobody else will sacrifice theirs. Selfish assholes. At least I’m willing to give for the greater cause. But that’s enough for now. I guess to justify the news post, I’ll reveal that I’m working on a new project, and I’m in the midst of finishing up the MegaMan article and touching up those pics I added to the gallery. Now that it’s all said and done, I’m off to play some kind of video game because I can’t do anything more productive (site-wise anyway).

Slumber party

It’s just me and the puppy for the weekend. Unfortunately, he needs my complete attention at all times, so I’ve got very little free time. Right now I need to get some sleep, because he wakes up at 6 and I have to get up with him. I promise a real update either tomorrow or Sunday night. Really. I’ve got big news (as compared to this post).

I ran

I knew a puppy would make a big change in my everyday life, but damn, I never expected that I’d get shafted into having to watch him all the time. Jeez. On the other hand, I rented Rebel Strike this weekend, and let me tell you, it’s one helluva game. I think I’ll do a mini-review… So back to what I originally came to post for. Today I found this video of a speed run of Super Mario Bros 3. Simply amazing. If you want, check out the 100% speed run for Metroid Prime too. I’m awestruck, really. My Metroid game is really going to change now. If only I was as good as people think.

A few links to the SMB3 video.

Animal

I have three things to report:

1. I never expected it to actually happen, but we got a dog. His name is Mojo and he really likes my shoes.

2. I still haven’t got around to fixing Paint… Help me!

3.I’ve been reading an HTML tutorial, so my skills are increasing slightly and I’ve learned a few new tricks. It might not make a noticeable difference, but if notihng else, my coding will be a lot neater.

Save me

The time change was nice, I got an extra hour of sleep, which could have been used to work on two huge assignments due Wednesday and Thursday that I have no time to work on now. Like I said, it’ll be a busy week, and I’ve just been looking over some of my old stuff, and noticed that (if counting all Chat Radios separately, guides as one, and the gallery as one) I have 30 unique things to read/look at on the site. Getting close to that 50. Someday.

Aside from that fact that ripping pics from .jpgs in MS Paint is incredibly slow and annoying, I’m doing pretty well with the next article. Remember, it’ll be twice as long as usual, so it’ll be worth it in the long run. I hope everyone enjoyed the OliverBot chat. I’ve read through it like 5 times and find it funny every time, so I assume others will enjoy it as well. And I redid the gallery, and made thumbnails so it should take less time to load.

Last thing I want to mention, is that I’ve written a small review of one of the movies I watched this weekend, I might do one for the other if I feel that it’s absolutely necessary, or if I’ve got time to waste, or homework to do. So check that out under the new category on the Articles page. That’s about it for now. Adios.

The edge of soul

Sorry I haven’t done that article yet. My brothers have been hogging the computer all week, and yesterday I had a job interview and I bought Soul Calibur II. I was going to wait and just get it for Christmas, but then it hit me that Christmas is still 3 months away. So now I’ve made a pact with myself not to buy any new games (bar Viewtiful Joe) until 2004. Unless I get the job, of course. Then I’ll have money to spend freely, unlike now, where my income is limited to begging my parents. So I’ll do it sometime this weekend. Not tonight, becuase I’m gonna be at my brother’s hockey tryout thing. I really miss playing…

Are you ready for some football?

As this is slowly becoming more bloggy as time goes by, I guess I should state why I haven’t completed that new article yet. Well, Friday was our school’s “outside fun day”. After enduring more activity in one day than I’ve had the rest of my life, my body was incredibly sore. It still is. I can barely move, never mind get out of bed.

Yesterday I managed to get out to the Bombers game. We had tickets to the VIP Blue & Gold room, so I couldn’t not go. So we got there, I ate a lot and met this really nice girl. We knew little more than each other’s names, but we got along famously. Only since I don’t know the proper protocol to liking a girl, I never thought to ask for a way to get in touch with her. So now I’ll probably never see her again. Oh well. The game was good, except for the fact that the Bombers stunk up the place and managed to lose a game that they could have won so easily. It was 26-20 with a minute left, and they threw the damn ball 3 times, when running it would have been the obvious solution. So after a long day, I still hurt and plopped right into bed. I wasn’t sleepy, but I almost literally couldn’t get up, so I laid there until about 9. Then I got up(and I use the term “up” loosely), watched Identity, which sucks, except for Amanda Peet is in it. And now I’m writing this. Now I’ve got a whole Sunday ahead of me. After a quick nap, if nobody’s on the PC, I’ll get right to work. Later dudes.

I’ll remember you

Would you look at that, I did it! I got all three promised articles done by September 2nd! And that means only 2 more days until I get to watch MegaMan NT Warrior! Everything’s coming up Milhouse… errr, Ryan!

In other news, it feels kinda good to be back at school. Classes seem easy enough, and I’ve been able to talk to a lot of people I hadn’t seen all summer (though I should have…). And if today was any indication of what’s to come, it’s gonna be a good year.

Boys of summer

Well, that’s the end of my last summer vacation. Sure there will be summers between college/university years, but I doubt they’ll be the same. I’ll probably actually do stuff. Though I can’t say that I feel I’ve wasted the summer. I’ve done a lot of the stuff I wanted to do: hang out at the cottage, write some articles, finish a few old games, etc, etc. But now it’s time to go back to the grind. And who knows, I might learn something this year. And if you haven’t guessed, no article. It’s not my fault though.
