~ Game Over ~
Mega Man X (SNES) – The traditional first game of the year.
Coffin Mall (PC) – Bite-sized indie horror about being chased around an empty mall by a demon car. A bit frustrating, but the climax was worth it.
Pokémon Scarlet (Switch) – Cleared the Mochi Mayhem epilogue and then… kept playing. There’s a lot of stuff to do in the DLC!
Firewatch (PC) – Been interested in playing this for years, and Steam was selling it for $3, so… Good investment. It’s a short, story-based game about a sad man and it’s actually pretty touching. Will play again, making different choices along the way.
Mega Man X DiVE Offline (PC) – Cleared the story on Challenge mode and earned all of the achievements. There’s still plenty more to do, but I’ve had my fill (for now).
Dread X Collection II (PC) – A pretty solid collection of 12 short horror games. There are a couple stinkers, but overall I thought it was very good. If you want more in-depth thoughts… There’s a let’s play series coming to my YouTube channel soon.
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion (Switch) – I really liked this as a character study of Zack. He’s an idiot, but a charming, heroic idiot. Seeing his relationships with Cloud and Aerith really added a lot of flavour to the FF7 lore. However, the gameplay wasn’t the most rewarding and got very repetitive very quickly.
~ Progress Notes ~
Omori (PC) – Played for over 3 hours and still in the prologue!?
Returnal (PC) – Third world
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (PS5) – Stopped Rhino.
