“Wait!” you shout, “Cleaning out my fridge is neither fun not holiday-related!”
And, you know, you’re right. But I am a genius and can spin anything!
While you really should be cleaning out your fridge like once a month or so (I don’t), the beginning of December, in fact, is the absolute best time for it. Think about this: the holidays are coming up. You’re probably going to be baking or cooking or otherwise crafting foodstuffs. You’re going to need a little extra space for all the extra ingredients you’re going to be stocking up on soon, and then for storing your creations until they’re needed. There’s also a strong likelihood that you’re going to be bringing home leftovers from a party or two, or maybe receiving baking as a gift from someone special. The point is, it’s an important time to have a little extra fridge space on hand.
I’ll admit that pandemic restrictions are probably going to change things up a bit. Parties are going to be small, or virtual, or gone altogether. You likely won’t be doing as much holiday baking as usual, if any. There might not be any banquets from which to scrape together a plate of leftovers. But you never know, and it’s always best to be prepared!
And… just clean your fridge anyway. It’s only sanitary.
To take this in a different direction, it might also be a good time to “clean the fridge” of your preferred video game console(s). Gifting time is coming up, and I don’t know about you, but for me that means at least one eShop card and lots of on-sale-for-dirt-cheap indie games. My Switch’s SD card is constantly full-to-bursting, so the holiday season is an important time for me to audit all the software I currently have downloaded to make sure there’s room for new purchases. I probably could just buy a bigger SD card, but why? I can’t play more than one game at a time, so why should I need to have everything I own installed? My PS4 has a similar issue, but I worry about that one less because… I don’t really use it that much.
That’s it for today! This will probably be the least exciting of the 24 Days of Quarantine Fun… But it’s hard to come up with that many unique blog post ideas! Some of them are bound to be stinkers!
