We want the world

Due to popular demand, I’ve added an RSS feed at the top there. I have no idea how these things work, and I have no interest in them, but you know, that’s what the public wants. Still working a few kinks out of it though, so if something’s off, then… get over it. It does basically what it’s supposed to though (I think), so all is as good as it needs to be right now.

A rather harsh blow to my self-esteem, Matt has begun publishing his own multi-installment article on his recent trip to Disney World. I look at this with sadness mostly because it’s like a bajillion times better than my own (which is mysteriously still not finished). On the upside, it seems he’s just like me in that he’s absolutely fascinated by aquatic creatures, yet would never go anywhere near them. A little more on that particular subject tomorrow…

Ready, steady, never look back

Sunday. Article day. Yeah, I copped out a bit, but I have my reasons. I’ll be posting better stuff in the next couple weeks. Gotta go back now… Almost have enough for that new armor…

EDIT: Had to make a little change in my article. Actually, it was a rather sizeable change. I was just sitting here and realized that I’d missed something. Well, it’s fixed now, so it’s back to the grind for me. I’ll explain tomorrow…

So tear me open, but beware

I’m far too tired to put you through the usual BotM paces today. This month. Ever again. So you know, here’s the sum of what I have to say. Band of the Month is We Are Scientists. Chances are that aside from my blog, you’ve never heard of them. But they’re a pretty good band. Their latest CD, With Love and Squalor is their best so far, but my favourite song, “Mothra Versus We Are Scientists” is not from that particular disc. Search them up. I had a link to bunch of free stuff a while back.

And now that that’s over, I have a few notes.

-Topclasshost does not allow torrent files. As such, all torrent links are stale.

-This page seems to not load every now and then, at least for me. So if it just comes up as black, click refresh a couple times.

-April 2006 archive is up. All [new] archives now have updates sidebars too.

-I don’t know if you noticed it, but the Coozy War page is on the sidebar there.

-DS Lite release is June 11. However, they’re only launching in white. Fuckers.

Ooh ee ooh ah ah, ting tang, walla walla bing bang

New article… not so up. But trust me, it will be sometime later today. I just wanted to make the news post right now. Currently, I’m finishing up with moving stuff off the CN webspace. Just the CD archive left, really. Pulled that half of the site together pretty quick, wouldn’t you say? Maybe that’s a good omen, indicating that I’ll get all those many articles over from Angelfire sooner than later. So yeah, check the articles page later on.

I went out to do a little shopping yesterday, and while I want to talk about what I bought, I just realized an even better idea. Seriously. As I was writing that sentence. Surely you remember that Mike did a couple mass reviews back in the day. They seem to have gone poof along with a lot of his other old stuff, but I’m basically gonna steal the formula for an easy out. Yeah. That’ll be next week’s article. You know what? If I play my cards right, I could very well have weekly articles for the next couple months, just like I predicted a few posts back.

The last thing I need to do (and this is way overdue) is give a little plug. I’ve been enjoying my iPod for all it’s worth (which is a lot), and part of owning an iPod is listening to podcasts. Now I don’t really care much for people talking about stuff, but for the record, I love the Penny Arcade podcasts. They’re hilarious and I highly suggest you go and download one and give it a listen (for those out of the know, you don’t need to own an iPod to listen to a podcast. They’re just really long mp3 files). I also recommend subscribing to the iTunes compatible feed if you want to round up the old ones quickly.

EDIT (3:43PM): The new article is up, and I absolutely love it. You may not agree with me, but I think it really captures the best of my writing. That and it really feels like an X-E article, just a bit shorter.

It doesn’t have any soul

Hey, check it out. Another WarioWare copy! But it has been a while since I linked to the last one I found, which is, on that note, still hanging around.

So anyway, I’ve gotten most of what was on the Comedy-Napalm TE over here now. It’s just a matter of the news archives and the CD collection at this point. I’ll be posting a new article later this week, as well as another CN article. What else will happen is strictly up to fate. Oh, and I guess a Band of the Month post should appear in there sometime too. What with April ending today and all.

We’ve had our fill of Heaven

Okay, good news. I’ve found solutions to all my problems. Some less great than others, but at least… you know what? Only one is a good solution, and that’s deciding to get my own webhost. Currently, I’m leaning toward Topclasshost, but it’ll still be a few days before my cash transfer will be complete, so if anyone spots a better deal in the next 4-5 days, don’t be afraid to give me a holler.

The next thing I’ve decided is about the site’s future. I’ve come to the conclusion that my last blog post was kind of like a mid-life crisis for the site. As such, I’ve decided that since the site is three-and-a-half years old, I will continue with it until it’s at least seven. At that point, it’ll be up in the air, but I promise that I will continue to provide half-baked entertainment until December of 2009.

Lastly, since I’m really not digging the night shift as much as I thought I would (read: at all), I’ve quit my job. It’s sad because I like the work, but I really hate the hours. I don’t feel so bad though, because my cousins go through jobs like Russians through vodka, and me only quitting one job because I don’t like it doesn’t seem so bad in comparison. Anyway, I’ve already come up with a respectable list of places that I know I’d love working at, so we’ll see how that turns out.

But enough about that shit. I’ve got good news! I’ll be posting a good many articles soon after I get set up with wherever I’ll be hosting my site from, with one being a real movie review. Not one of those lousy quickies. Also a handful of video game reviews, including Stubbs the Zombie: Rebel Without A Pulse, and a review of the Tales of Eternia anime series (Because I’m a Tales whore. Seriously. I’m considering getting a PSP for the ToE port, even though I swore to myself that I’d never buy one of the damn things). All this along with some very overdue articles and the rest of the Comedy-Napalm articles. So while there’s been a little slump this month, things are going to get very much better soon. At least for a while. Did anyone suggest the return of weekly articles? I just might consider it…

Argh… One last note: due to inactivity and the whole webhost fiasco, the CN Forums have officially been abandoned. They’ll still be around for a couple months or so, but after that, they’ll be dead. Not like mine, which are still floating around out there somewhere
