My first (emphasis on <em>first<\/em>) playthrough has been recorded and will go live on YouTube on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However! There is a much more important matter to discuss: HOLY BALLS IS THE SOUNDTRACK EVER GOOD!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder&#039;s Revenge (Official Full Soundtrack)\" width=\"660\" height=\"371\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7n1kbzBO4bk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>While the trailers aptly communicated that the gameplay and pixel-art would be right on point, I was a little concerned about the quality of the soundtrack. As someone who listens to the <strong>TMNT III: The Manhattan Project<\/strong> and <strong>TMNT: Turtles in Tim<\/strong>e soundtracks all the damn time, it was very important to me that Shredder&#8217;s Revenge had a soundtrack that lived up to the legacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So it makes me happy that it not only met my expectations, but soars far, <em>far<\/em> beyond that lofty mark. Nobody&#8217;s perfect, so there are a couple tracks that drag just a little, but it&#8217;s generally safe to say that this is a collection of bangers from front to back. This soundtrack made such a good impression on me that halfway through listening to it, I hopped over to <a href=\"https:\/\/kidkatanarecords.bandcamp.com\/album\/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-shredders-revenge-original-game-soundtrack\">Bandcamp and bought it on compact disc<\/a>. I even left a comment on the YouTube video stating so!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s hard to qualify any individual tracks as &#8220;best&#8221; when the entire compilation is sick as hell, but here are a few preliminary selections for tracks that I&#8217;ll be blasting at max volume while I drive:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Big Apple, 3PM<\/li><li>Mutants Over Broadway<\/li><li>Panic in the Sky (featuring <a href=\"https:\/\/gametal.bandcamp.com\/\">Jonny Atma<\/a>!!!)<\/li><li>It&#8217;s A Pizza Party (featuring <a href=\"https:\/\/megaranmusic.com\/album\/rndm\">Mega Ran<\/a>!!!!)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All that said, I don&#8217;t especially care for the re-arranged version of the 80&#8217;s cartoon theme. The instrumentation is fine, but the re-recorded vocals are all off-beat and sound really weird. But that&#8217;s my only real complaint!
