It’s easily the most robust Mr. Driller game I’ve ever played, and the five different game modes add a good amount of variety. Though, I’m still pretty bad at Mr. Driller, so I was only barely able to pass level 2 of each mode :I

The Medium (PC) – Very good spookventure. Clearly influenced by the Silent Hill series, but removes combat altogether to make the gameplay experience a little simpler. The story is a bit opaque, but is definitely more and more interesting as you put the pieces together. Which, I think, is a hallmark of good storytelling.

Stela (Switch) – A “walk forward and solve simple platforming puzzles” game much like LIMBO or Little Nightmares. Only I got no joy out of this one. Mostly because it was completely disjointed, due to every area being totally different from the last. If Stela is telling a story, it’s an impenetrable, convoluted mess. That, and it just never really made an impression otherwise.

Legend of Mana (Switch) – All Mana series games are weird in some way or another, but this one is weird in pretty much every single way. While some people find that charming, it didn’t really work for me. At least I’ve finally played it now!

Ys V: Lost Kefin, Kingdom of Sand (SFC) – While it’s not a bad game, really, it’s got nowhere near as much appeal as the other Ys games I’ve played. Given, they were all remakes that came out after this one, but… I dunno, this one is so visually bland and the combat is real janky and, well, those are my only two actual complaints. Still, even the least-good Ys game is head and shoulders above a lot of truly bad games.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 (Switch) – What a ride!

Yooka-Laylee (Switch) – I dropped off about halfway through this one a couple years ago, and picked it up to finally finish it (and reclaim SD card space). While it’s got all the charm in the world, but just doesn’t measure up to Banjo-Kazooie. I don’t know why I felt so compelled to 100% clear it. Also, the last boss fight is a terrible slog. It’s got like eight phases! Who does that?

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD (Switch) – I probably liked it more than the last time I played it, if only because of the nice spit-polish that Nintendo did for this re-release.

Samsara Room (PC) – See this video playthough.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (3DS) – There’s something to be said about these classic-style top-down Zeldas. They go down real smooth. Getting anywhere on the map is quick, there aren’t reams of text to mash through, and the puzzles are simple but satisfying. Excellent game.

Power Wash Simulator (PC) – It’s exactly what it sounds like, and far more satisfying than you could even imagine. More words forthcoming.

NieR Reincarnation (iOS) – Called it at the end of Chapter 8, because it’s not that fun, and just eats up my time and my phone’s precious memory.

~ Progress Notes ~

Cyberpunk 2077 (PC) – Third story mission, I think?

~ Game Over ~ Mr. Driller: Drill Land (Switch) – I honestly can’t believe that Namco decided not to localize this back in 2002.
