Wildly different from the original, but also very similar to Ys Origin, a game that I liked so much that I played it three times in a row. Felghana was… also very good in general, though it was a heck of a lot more grindy than I would have preferred.

Crooked Silence (PC) – A PS1-looking, horror-themed FPS that I purchased on Itch.io for seventy-five cents. It’s shockingly good, at least for that price. Needs some polish, but I had a good time with it. Plus it came with three extra DLC mini-games that were all fairly unique and fun as well. I’d recommend this one.

Picross S5 (Switch) – Completed all modes. So much picross!

Madrobot X (PC) – Vertical-scrolling shooter of the independent variety. 12 levels long, and didn’t really turn up the juice until that final stage. I had fun, and am happy that I was finally able to get to the end of a shooter without cheating. No idea where I even got this one.

Lorelai (PC) – Sequel to The Cat Lady and Downfall. I didn’t quite enjoy it as much as the other two, but probably mostly because I got punished for a lot of my choices. Chapter 5 in particular was brutal. Might have to do another run to absolve myself. Anyway, I still thought it was a stellar game, full of interesting characters and a very unpredictable plot.

White Day: A Labyrinth Named School (PS4) – Pitched into the bin.

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (DS) – I want to say nice things about Phantom Hourglass, but the touchscreen control gimmick just doesn’t work for me. I mean, it works, but I don’t like it. I don’t have any other big complaints, but for me, an uncomfortable control scheme is a huge deal.

Katamari Damacy REROLL (Switch) – This video game really makes me feel nostalgic for the days when developers were still doing weird, exciting new things. Now everything’s been done and the industry is basically just a mire of sequels and remasters. Or maybe I’m just a cynical old fart.

Subnautica (PS4) – What a rollercoaster of emotion! Though I think that since I was only about halfway through the game when I wrote that, it may require a follow-up. Maybe.

Super Mario RPG (SNES) – It was overdue for a replay.

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks (DS) – I think that it’s safe to say that, unless I do an all-Zeldas marathon again, I probably won’t ever be playing this or Phantom Hourglass again. I want to like both games, but the pile of things I dislike about them is stacked much too high.

~ Progress Notes ~

None!
