How about you go read this much bigger thing I wrote about it?

Kirby: Star Allies (Switch) – I might not have played this if not for a change to the My Nintendo program right before release that allowed a nice big discount on the purchase.

Knack (PS4) – I tried to be positive about it for a long time, but by Chapter Nine I was fully willing to admit that I hate it. Swapping in tougher enemies is one thing, but giving them regenerating HP is just mean.

Monster Hunter World (PS4) – I’ve mostly been distracted by Breath of the Wild, but took some time away from Hyrule to hunt a few Deviljhos.

Yoshi’s Island (SNES) – While I do regard this as one of the greatest games ever made, it still bothers me that Yoshi’s movement is so slippery. And no microtransactions!

Vostok Inc. (Switch) – I really only played the demo (for several hours), but this appears to be the ultimate expression of Cookie Clicker, with a sweet twin-stick shooter layered on top.

Into the Breach (PC) – Tactical RPG (which I love) flavoured with roguelike elements (which I dislike). Haven’t played a lot yet, but so far it seems like it works pretty darn well.

Bayonetta (Switch) – I like mostly everything about this game, except: I’m not having any fun. It’s ridiculously difficult in the way that it demands frame-perfect reflexes. I’m much too old for that.

Outlast (Switch) – A spook-em-up where the order of the day is jumpscares by the boatload.
