~ Game Over ~<\/h2>\n

Mighty Gunvolt Burst<\/strong> (Switch) –\u00a0I really adore this one. Played through twice now, as both Beck and Gunvolt, and then just kept playing<\/em>. Also, the Ekoro DLC came out late in the month, so…<\/p>\n

Vaccine War<\/strong> (PC) – I wrote a thing<\/a>. Kinda meh.<\/p>\n

Blaster Master Zero<\/strong> (Switch) – They’re releasing more DLC characters now\u00a0so I opted to go back and play with the already-out DLC guys<\/a>. Gunvolt is awesome and makes the game feel new!<\/p>\n

Until Dawn<\/strong> (PS4) – I try not to use this word about video games, but I loved<\/em> this one<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse<\/strong> (NES) – The Netflix series and a nice My Nintendo discount inspired me<\/a> to\u00a0try one of the few ‘Vania games I’ve never played.\u00a0Decent, but steeped in bulls**t.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Citadale: Curse of Darkness<\/strong> (WiiU) – Second chapter in the trilogy, solidifying the Casltevania “homage” by using an exact\u00a0Castlevania subtitle. Perfectly average in all ways.<\/p>\n

Super Mario 64<\/strong> (N64) – I did something new this time and finished the game in a single sitting. Only to the requisite 71 stars, but hey,\u00a0I’m not some kind of superman.<\/p>\n

Tales from the Borderlands<\/strong> (PS4)\u00a0– I wasn’t impressed with Episode 1, to the point where I was calling it Tales from the Snore<\/em>-derlands. However,\u00a0it got\u00a0so much<\/em> better once Gortys showed up.<\/p>\n

BioShock Infinite<\/strong> (360) –\u00a0A significantly more interesting tale than the original BioShock, but for some reason the gameplay still feels hollow to me, and I can’t figure out why.<\/p>\n

Azure Striker Gunvolt<\/strong> (3DS) – Bought this in August of 2014 when it originally launched, haven’t played it until now. Massive oversight<\/em>. It is excellent, but very difficult to actually be good at.<\/p>\n

Resident Evil HD<\/strong> (PS4) – You know, initially I figured I’d do a one-sitting run of this. And then\u00a0said run took\u00a0nearly two months\u00a0to complete. Damned distractions.<\/p>\n

Red’s Kingdom<\/strong> (PC) – Quit playing after 20 minutes because I wasn’t having any fun.<\/p>\n

Ever Oasis<\/strong> (3DS) – If there’s one thing I dislike about this game, it’s having to\u00a0constantly swap\u00a0companions\u00a0to have\u00a0the correct skills.\u00a0I often found myself\u00a0missing\u00a0Link’s all-in-one tool belt.<\/p>\n

Splatoon 2<\/strong> (Switch) – Probably<\/em> my most wanted Switch game. I’ve got to say, I am not at all disappointed.\u00a0Salmon Run!\u00a0It’s so much fun! And the rest is pretty good, too.<\/p>\n

Final Fantasy XV<\/strong> (PS4) – My only mistake was waiting until the day before Splatoon 2 to start playing this. It is now\u00a0rapidly absorbing my life. Or, my weekends, at least.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

ARMS<\/strong> (Switch) –\u00a0What I learned\u00a0last month is that\u00a0I am terrible at ARMS.\u00a0Luckily, it’s really<\/em> fun.<\/p>\n

Syphon Filter<\/strong> (PS1) – I\u00a0am surprised at how much\u00a0I like this game. It cribs\u00a0great ideas from games like Goldeneye 007 and Metal Gear Solid and mashes them into a very solid product.<\/p>\n

Implosion: Never Lose Hope<\/strong> (Switch) – This<\/em> was a mobile game!? But it’s not garbage! In fact, it’s actually very cool and has a ton of content! None of which is behind microtransactions!<\/p>\n

Mercenaries Saga 2<\/strong> (3DS) – It’s basically just Final Fantasy Tactics, but with a little less polish and less freedom vis-a-vis character classes. But I’m not very far, so that still might open up.<\/p>\n

Team Kirby Clash Deluxe<\/strong> (3DS) – Nearly at the “actually done for real” point. Also, at the eleventh hour I discovered that Beam Mage is way<\/em> more effective than Sword Knight.<\/p>\n

NBA Playgrounds<\/strong> (Switch) – There was a big update this month, which added online play and some new players and features, but most importantly: significantly improved loading times. Nice!<\/p>\n

Namco Museum<\/strong> (Switch) –\u00a0This collection has Sky Kid in it. Sky Kid<\/em>!\u00a0Also nine other games; thankfully, none of them Rally-X. The lack of Ms. Pac-Man is\u00a0disappointing though.<\/p>\n

Magikarp Jump!<\/strong> (iOS) – Just as I was about to clear the (halfway point of the) final league, they went and updated the game with more<\/em> content. And then a second time!<\/p>\n

TPB: Greasy Money<\/strong> (iOS) – I resisted temptation and did not<\/em> pay to\u00a0get a leg up in\u00a0the Cheeseburger Picnic or Swayzie Express\u00a0events. Good for me!<\/p>\n

Metroid Prime<\/strong> (Wii) – I was intending to finish off a replay of this, but then the one-two punch of Splatoon 2 and Final Fantasy XV pushed it back until God-knows-when.<\/p>\n

Picture Cross<\/strong> (iOS)\u00a0– One of the few Facebook ads that have been\u00a0properly targeted towards me was for this mobile picross game. It… would be amazing if\u00a0it had a d-pad and buttons.<\/p>\n

Adventure Capitalist<\/strong> (PC) – Got roped back into this one for a weekend\u00a0by another stupid event. I really should just delete it, but dem\u00a0‘cheevos<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
