Surprisingly, I really liked it!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (GBA) – I’m going through a TMNT thing right now, okay? Replayed this for the first time since like 2004, and I am convinced that the Shredder fight is literally impossible without cheating.

Jotun: Valhalla Edition (WiiU) – Wherein you play as a Viking warrior who must earn her place in Valhalla after suffering an inglorious death. This is done by finding and slaying a number of elemental giants. It’s a really great game!

NEO-NOW! (PC) – A pretty boring Early Access game. Maybe it’ll get better in time? I don’t really care and am just calling it a wash. To the “Done Forever” pile with you!

~ Now Playing ~

Picross 3D Round 2 (3DS) – It’s been out in Japan for what seems like forever, and during September’s Nintendo Direct, they said “Oh yeah and also this is available on eShop now” out of the blue. And I’m so happy, as 3D Picross is Best Picross. SO MANY PUZZLES!

TMNT2: Battle Nexus (GBA) – After beating the first game, I moved on to the sequel, naturally. I actually wrote a whole article about this one way back when! It was one of the few that still lived on the Angelfire version of TE, but I actually bothered to bring it over just to facilitate making this link.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past (3DS) – Despite being some of the cookie-cutterest JRPGs out there, I really love my Dragon Quests. I think it all owes to the games being so colourful and charming (and this one has all of “the feels”). I’d never played the original version of VII, so this is completely new to me.

Final Fantasy VIII (PC) – I think the biggest takeaway from this playthrough is that I learned to appreciate the card game even once all the annoying extra rules come into play. Mostly. The Random rule still ruins it all.

Monster Hunter Generations (3DS) – Poor MHGen got sidelined for most of the month. I still got in a bit of hunting, but for the most part, it was blocks and space pirates and slimes that were being slaughtered on my 3DS.

Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS) – It’s not really very Metroidy, but it’s still a fun game! And it gets really tough, to boot. It seems like a grave oversight, but the game does not rebalance itself based on active number of players. So playing solo past the first “chapter” of the game is excruciatingly difficult. Two-player was pretty hard, but doable.

Pokémon Pearl (DS) – Still sort of picking away at it when there’s nothing else I’d rather do. Which is almost never. In my old age, I’ve forgotten what it’s like to be bored.

Katamari Forever (PS3) – I started watching Game Grumps play this, but then decided that I would rather play it myself. It’s been a while since I’ve played Katamari! I forgot how much fun it is!

Fallout 4 (PS4) – Every once in a while, when I have a long stretch of time open, I will boot up Fallout 4. Then I will spend about an hour actually playing, and two or three hours meticulously sorting and crafting items.

The First Skunk Bundle (WiiU) – A game that I picked up because it was free and earned me a bunch of gold points on My Nintendo. It’s a collection of just awful shovelware. It’s garbage, but for some reason I found myself awed by it. I suppose it’s been too long since my last random XBLIG demo session.

Birthday month! Also, month of all the games.
