Densha!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A new video game called <strong>Denshattack!<\/strong> was released earlier this week. I&#8217;d been going out of my mind waiting for it ever since I learned of its existence in Nintendo&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=TRWwQY199Yk&amp;pp=ygUbbmludGVuZG8gZGlyZWN0IGRlbnNoYXR0YWNr\">Indie World Showcase<\/a> back in March. It has been a<em> grueling<\/em> 4 months and change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thankfully, the game is exactly what I was hoping it would be. Which is to say: slick, stylized, and super fun. Gameplay is like (modern) <strong>Sonic the Hedgehog<\/strong> meets <strong>Tony Hawk&#8217;s Pro Skater<\/strong> meets a rollercoaster, with an aesthetic that reminds me of <strong>Splatoon<\/strong>, <strong>Jet Set Radio<\/strong>, and <strong>Katamari Damacy<\/strong> all at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyway, I have other things to do right now, but here&#8217;s the launch trailer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Denshattack! \u2013 Launch Trailer \u2013 Nintendo Switch 2\" width=\"660\" height=\"371\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NSR-nskeuBI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;m only about a quarter of the way through so far, but it&#8217;s looking like this will absolutely be one of my top 3 games of the year. It won&#8217;t likely be #1 because <strong>Pok\u00e9mon Pokopia<\/strong> exists, but <em>maaaaaaaaaan<\/em>, I&#8217;m starting to waver on that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oh and for the love of everything good in the world, <a href=\"https:\/\/kidkatanarecords.bandcamp.com\/album\/denshattack-original-game-soundtrack\">go listen to the goddamned soundtrack<\/a>.
