No, not really. But I did need the arranged music CD that came with the special edition. And I had fun (let’s) playing it again, so it worked out in the end.

The Deadseat (PC) – I bought this because the three seconds of footage I saw on the Steam page looked exactly like something I would want. Little did I know that it’s Five Nights at Freddy’s, but in a car. Also, dark as heck and I quite enjoyed it.

It’s Just a Prank (PC) – This game is even darker than the last, but far too grounded and I did not enjoy it. I need a pretty thick level of abstraction to be able to stomach the themes present in this one.

Haunted Property (PC) – And we’re back to goofy, PS1-looking Japanese horror. My safe space. Not as good as some of Yamoto’s other games, but I had a time.

7 Days Shrine (PC) – A game about solo camping by a haunted shrine for a week. Not much in the way of gameplay, but the atmosphere was surprisingly spooky.

Doorways: Prelude (PC) – You know, all these indie horror PC games make it look like I spend all my free time playing video games. But keep in mind that most of them take an hour or less to finish. This one was longer (about 2 hours), but it was kinda boring and I don’t have anything else to say about it.

Doorways: The Underworld (PC) – Significantly better than Prelude, because it had a lot more actual gameplay. For a
~
10-year-old indie horror, it was surprisingly good and didn’t overstay its welcome.

Doorways: Holy Mountains of Flesh (PC) – The end of the Doorways series, and I’m not sure if I liked this one or Underworld better. This definitely had a more coherent story, but it also had the world’s most complicated sliding block puzzle. Overall, it was a really fun series, and I’d really like to see another sequel one day.

Mario Kart World (Switch2) – Clearing the 50cc cups rolled the credits so technically I’ve beaten it. But there’s so much more game available; I’ve barely spent any time just driving around the world enjoying the sights and doing mini-challenges.

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 (PC) – Allied campaign complete! It was decidedly tougher than the Soviets’ campaign. Onto Yuri’s Revenge?

Picross: Records of the Shield Hero (Switch) – Picross game themed on an anime (I assume) that I will never watch. Still, it’s picross, and that’s all I ask for.

~ Progress Notes ~

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (PS5) – Act III

Deltarune (Switch2) – Chapter 4

SoulCalibur II (GC) – Chapter 5 (Weapon Master)

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2: Yuri’s Revenge (PC) – Halfway(?) through Allied campaign

Gestalt: Steam & Cinder (PC) – Sylva forest

Purchases

Mario Kart World (Switch2)

Deltarune (Switch2)

Mario vs Donkey Kong (Switch)

The Deadseat (PC)

7 Days Shrine (PC)

Haunted Property (PC)

Doorways: Prelude (PC)

Doorways: The Underworld (PC)

~ Game Over ~ Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana (Switch) – Did I need this remaster?
